A Canada guide
One of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the world is Niagara Falls. It fascinates with its majesty and power. Hundreds of travelers from all over the world come daily to the place where this amazing and unique natural monument is located. Canada has the most unusual, and that is, a smooth border with the United States. Moreover, on the very border there is the famous Niagara Falls. P.S. The view of Niagara Falls, precisely on the Canadian side, is more stunning than the view from the USA. But the best time to visit is, of course, summer. Since from the middle or end of October in Canada it already becomes quite cold. Going to Niagara Falls, it is worth considering your route in advance, since you can get here in two ways: by flying to New York, or to the Canadian city of Toronto. Excursions are organized from both cities, but it is not necessary to take them at all, since you can get there yourself by regular buses. Each of the three cascades of Niagara has its own name. Waterfalls located in the United States are called "American" and "Fata". The Horseshoe Waterfall is located in Canada.

For some Canadians, it's what defines them. They say it's what binds this country together. "Hockey is our game," says Saul Miller, a sports psychologist who grew up in Montreal. "We invented it. We're good at it. And I think people really want something to take pride in." The Canadian Historical Museum has acquired a hockey stick, which is considered the oldest in the world. Examination showed that it was made of maple in the 1830s. The museum paid 300 thousand Canadian dollars (about 250 thousand US dollars) to the owner of the club, social worker Mark Presley. Presley bought the club in 2008 for a thousand dollars from a barber in the province of Nova Scotia — the exhibit hung on the wall of his establishment for more than 20 years. The barber told Presley the name of the previous owner — it turned out to be Charles Moffatt. He said, in turn, that the club has always belonged to his family: the initials of William Moffatt, who was born in 1829, are carved on it.

The tenth largest island on earth ->Quebec is an amazing city. It's like a little Paris and not Paris at the same time. There is no metro in it, but there are small streets, like in ancient Europe. Being there, you can experience the feeling that you are not in Canada at all, but in France, for example. Quebec is the capital of the province of Quebec, Lower Canada. The symbol of the city is the iris flower, which is said to be extremely beautiful here and blooms in spring. In autumn, we did not see irises, but we saw the second symbol of Quebec, the yellow birch, in all its glory. A lily is painted on the flag of Quebec as a link with French history, language, culture and traditions.
Little France in Canada ->Canada, specifically Quebec, produces most of the world's supply of maple syrup. In 2005, about 26.5 million litres was produced, that is about 80% of the world's supply. No wonder, Canada is a country well-known for Maple syrup. Maple syrup is a sweetener made from the sap of maple trees. The common maple species used is the Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) because of the high sugar content found in its sap. The sap of other maple species can be used also but gives an inferior quality of syrup. Before winter, these maple trees store starch in their stems and roots. Then, the starch gets converted to sugar and rises in the sap. During spring, the sap are collected from tapping the tree trunk. The collected sap is brought to the sugar house where it is concentrated by boiling to produce maple syrup. About 40 liters of Sugar Maple sap makes a liter of maple syrup. Maple syrup is a perfect combination with waffles, pancakes and French toast. It can also be used as an ingredient in baking, making candy, preparing desserts, or as a sugar source and flavoring agent in making beer.
The most famous syrup in the worldWhen I think of Canada, one of the things that comes to my mind is the Maple leaf. I remember receiving from a friend who visited Canada a small bottle of maple syrup. I remember it as coming from Canada because the Maple Leaf, which is the most widely recognized national symbol of Canada, is embedded on the bottle. So, let me share in this hub what is there to know about the Maple. The National Flag of Canada is also known as the Maple Leaf. It is a red flag with a white square in the middle where an 11-pointed red maple leaf is imprinted. The image of the maple leaf used on the flag was designed by Jacques Saint-Cyr. While the official colors of Canada as red from Saint George's Cross and white from the French royal emblem was proclaimed as such by King George V in 1921. Aside from finding the maple leaf on the Canadian flag, it is now commonly used on logos of various Canadian based companies (Air Canada) and the logos of Canadian sports teams (Toronto FC soccer club). Canadians are also fond of wearing maple leaf pins and badges - a national symbol they are very proud of.
